Pub Frato Gastropub featured in Cleveland Magazine
Pub Frato Gastropub will be feature in the May issue of Cleveland Magazine, which is its “Best Restaurants” issue.
Cleveland Magazine’s Jason Brill had the chance to visit Pub Frato Gastropub in Concord, Ohio recently and had the follow to say.
“We have a maxim around the office: No distance is too far for a good taco,” Brill said. “Whether it’s loaded with chicken, beef or tofu, we love all the possible combinations that can fill that folded, portable tortilla shell.”
Brill knew from the moment that Pub Frato Gastropub opened its door in December that a trek was in order for the trio of tacos on the menu. But, while the Cajun shrimp and the braised pork options tempted then, Brill and company ordered the braised short rib tacos topped with onion jam, goat cheese and cilantro.
“The velvety cheese and dynamic combo of sweet and tangy from the onion jam layered nicely with the tender short rib,” Brill said. “Between bites, we kept going back to the side of crispy yuca chips dusted with smoked shallot salt and served with house-made guacamole and pico de gallo.”
Brill suggested that, if tacos aren’t your thing, Pub Frato Gastropub has plenty of inventive offerings that include the roasted beet and blue cheese baby green salad. The beets and maple Dijon vinaigrette are a sweet counter to the cheese, while the spiced nuts add a welcome crunch.
Pub Frato Gastropub features a large selection of craft beers, including 12 on tap such as the 2 Cousins Kolsch made specially for Pub Frato by Willoughby Brewing Co.
Situated in Gristmill Village Shopping Center, which is just off Ohio 44 at the I-90 exit, Pub Frato Gastropub was founded by the owners’ love for food, friends and family. Although their goal was to bring the type of place they always wanted to frequent but wasn’t available to the area, it was the owners’ appreciation for family that brought two cousins together—each one bringing a key component to the creation of Pub Frato Gastropub.
